Art-St-Urban showcases a range of local, national and international artists in its sculpture park on the impressive grounds of this contemporary art centre. The magnificent park and buildings of the former Cistercian St. Urban abbey goes back to 1184, now listed as a historical monument.

Exhibitions in the sculpture park rotate periodically. Artists who have exhibited here include Dennis Oppenheim, Magdalena Abakanowicz, John Henry, Christian Bolt and Gabriela von Habsburg.

The sculpture park is publicly accessible daily, free of charge.

Built in 1670, Credit Suisse Bank bought and restored this chalet which opened in 1993 as a conference centre and hotel, in addition to a site for the display of outdoor sculpture and installations. Large scale outdoor sculptures can be seen by artists Dani Karavan, Beverly Pepper, and Ulrich Ruckriem.

The significant collection of Hildy & Ernst Beyeler is on display in the museum building of the Foundation Beyeler, designed by renowned architect Renzo Piano. The beautiful landscape of the surrounding park is integrated into the building via vast windows that enhance the experience of the artworks. The collection includes works by world class artists such as Pablo Picasso and Alberto Giacometti.

The museum is open daily from 10am to 6pm, till 8pm on Wednesdays.

The Fondation Pierre Gianadda is tucked into the forests of the alpine town of Martigny. The gardens of the Foundation are home to original Roman ruins in addition to significant works of sculpture by Joan Miro, Jean Arp, Alexander Calder, Henry Moore, George Segal and Auguste Rodin to name a few.

There is also an automobile museum, cafe, concerts and changing art exhibitions.

The Foundation is open November to June from 10am till 6pm, and from June to November from 9am till 7pm. Admission is charged.

The sculpture trail of the village of Séprais, entitled the ‘Ballad of Séprais’, covers a 3 kilometre stretch encompassing fields, open pastures and farm roads. Each year new works are installed, either permanent or ephemeral, on loan or produced onsite out of locally sourced materials. The sculpture trail began in 1993.

The Ballad of Séprais is accessible to the public daily, free of charge.

Residencies are available for artists to contribute to the trail.

The 12th Century monastery was restored in 1977 for the development of a sculpture museum. The Romanesque architecture still remains, and works by Anish Kapoor, David Nash, Nigel Hall, William Pye, Hamish Black and Ian Hamilton Finlay are displayed in the permanent collection in the sculpture park. In addition there are changing exhibitions year round.

Stiftung Sculpture at Schoenthal is open from 2pm till 5pm on Fridays, and from 11am till 6pm on Saturdays and Sundays. Admission is charged.
