The Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation is renowned for its support of the arts and extensive collection of art from tapestries and oriental objects on display at the Calouste Gulbenkian Museum to the contemporary painting and sculpture and changing programme of exhibitions at the Centre of Modern Art. Here, emerging artists are invited to create specific works for the gardens.

The Centre is open Tuesday to Sunday from 10am to 6pm. Admission is charged.

Opened in 1988, the Foundation is located in a 45 acre park in the beautiful Boavista District of Porto. Artists in the Museum of Contemporary Art permanent collection include Claes Oldenburg and Coosje Van Bruggen, Richard Serra, Dan Graham, Francisco Tropa, Alberto Carneiro and Maria Nordman.

Park opening hours are 10am till 7pm from Tuesdays to Fridays, till 8pm on Weekends and public holidays. Admission is charged.

The growing collection of the International Museum of Contemporary Sculpture comprises works that are created during the biannual international sculpture symposia (since 1991) at Santo Tirso. Works are displayed in different parks and gardens in the town: Parque D. Maria II, Praça do Município, Jardim dos Carvalhais, Praça Camilo Castelo Branco, and Parque Urbano da Rabada.

The parks and gardens are open to the public daily.
