Chattanooga State’s Museum of Art comprises an Outdoor Museum of around 40 permanent sculptures and an Indoor Museum of seven galleries, both featuring works by students, faculty members as well as local, national and international artists. The Museum was established in 2003, although there has been a programme of exhibitions around campus since 1991, established by Prof. Denise Frank, a member of the arts faculty.

Opened June 1999 the Carell Woodland Sculpture Trail hosts the work of world class international sculptors such as Ian Hamilton Finlay, George Rickey, Jenny Holzer, Sophie Ryder and James Turrell along the mile long trail set within reclaimed woodland.

Cheekwood is 8 miles south of Nashville. The gardens are open Tuesdays - Saturdays from 9:30am to 4:30pm, and Sundays from 11am to 4:30pm.

Admission is charged.

Situated on a 100 foot high bluff overlooking the Tennessee River and downtown Chattanooga, the Sculpture Plaza includes sculptures by George Segal, John Henry, William King, Louis Nevelson and Alexander Calder.

Open 10am till 5pm, Monday, Tuesday, Friday and Saturday. 12-5pm Wednesday and Sunday. Late nights Thursdays. Admission is charged.

This two acre garden in the Bluff View Art District hosts a permanent collection and annual exhibitions of sculptures every June on landscaped grounds overlooking the beautiful Tennessee River. Recognised sculptors who have been influential in shaping American Sculpture are represented in the River Gallery, which also shows and sells paintings and craft works, and holds regular events.

The gallery’s open hours are 10am-5pm Mondays to Saturdays and 1-5pm on Sundays. Admission is free.

The University of Tennessee’s campus sculpture collection includes permanent works and a programme of temporary exhibitions (‘Tours’). The first sculpture tour was held in 1982 as part of World’s Fair, organised by Dennis Peacock, a sculptor and arts professor at the university.
