TRIGGER First Early Career Seminar

05 September 2016

Are you struggling to reconcile work commitments and a personal life? Do you have to put yourself second most of the time?

In this engaging and interactive workshop, Board Mentor Andrew Atter will discuss strategies both women and men can use to formulate a balanced set of goals for themselves, and then influence their environment to enable those goals to become a reality.  Too often, women have to put their broader life goals in the shade in order to pursue their career. This is neither necessary, nor is it sustainable.

The workshop will address the underlying tensions that exist which make it harder for women to pursue a clear and balanced set of goals for themselves and their work. There are many practical and useful techniques and “life hacks” that can make a big difference. But much will depend on your own attitudes and behaviour, rather than waiting for the world to become a more perfect place.

We are keen that the workshop draws upon your experiences in your working lives, so think about the following questions:

  • What would you like to get out of the workshop?
  • What important life goals would you like to pursue, but can’t because work always gets in the way?
  • How do your work and life goals interact, possibly reinforcing one another?
  • Having set a goal, how can you influence your environment to give yourself a chance of success?

This is a Bring you own lunch event.
