Founded in 1995 by sculptor Luben Boykov and environmentalist John Evans, the Boreal Sculpture Garden is located on 6.5 acres of pasture, forest, bog, and ponds near St. John’s Newfoundland. Most of the work found within the garden is abstract and organic in nature and the site hosts a bronze casting foundry and studio space, equipped for wood, stone, and metal sculpting. The foundry and studio are unusual in that they are designed to be environmentally friendly. The decision to launch the project was motivated by the desire for permanent display space of Luben’s work and that of visiting artists.
