Ron Smith is Professor of Applied Economics at Birkbeck and a Co-Director of the Centre for Political Economy and Institutional Studies (CPEIS). His research interests encompass econometrics, defence economics and political economy. He has published 10 books as author or editor and over 100 articles in refereed journals including The Quarterly Journal of Economics, The American Economic Review and The Economic Journal.
