Inside Australia (by Anthony Gormley)
Lake Ballard,
Menzies

This permanent installation by UK artist Anthony Gormley began in 2003 on a remote salt lake in Western Australia called Lake Ballard in Menzies, approximately 130 km north of Kalgoorlie. 51 sculptural forms are displayed based on digital scans of 51 residents of the town of Menzies, which were then reduced, distorted and cast in iron.

The Mundaring Community Sculpture Park was developed by the Mundaring Bicentennial Community Committee in 1988 as a site in which visitors can enjoy and appreciate the recreational and cultural heritage of this unique area. A series of commissioned sculptural works feature some of Western Australia's best known artists, including a playful bronze project by Stuart Elliot and works by Hans Arkeveld, Michael Arnold, Alan Clark, Peter Dailey, Nola Farman, Ron Gomboc, Ron Sims and Jon Tarry. More information about these works can be acquired from the Mundaring Arts Centre.

The Mundaring Community Sculpture Park is adjacent to Mundaring's Railway Reserves Heritage Trail.

Open daily.

A note of special interest to BMX riders who also enjoy viewing sculpture, the Munda Biddi off road cycle Trail has its origins in Sculpture Park and will eventually make its way to Albany in the South West.

Originally conceived as a sculpture trail, Understory is a multi arts experience today. In addition to sculpture and physical interventions in the forest, the Southern Forest Arts have commissioned musicians and writers to compliment the visitor’s experience of the forest. Artworks are located along a 1.2km walk trail through pristine native forest. Local, national and international artists are featured in the trail.

Open Daily 9am - 4pm (last entry 3pm). Admission is charged.
