Rites Undone is a short documentary tracing the journey of Nigerian victims of sex-trafficking in Italy. The film investigates the psychological methods of control used by sex-traffickers, and explores the epistemic challenges faced by European mental health workers trying to provide treatment across cultural and religious divides.

About the filmmakers:

Naomi Richman is a postdoctoral researcher on the Hidden Persuaders project and an anthropologist whose work explores themes of religion, sexuality and abuse.

Eddie Bolger is a producer at the Derek Jarman Lab and a filmmaker working across documentary, fiction and educational productions.

Bartek Dziadosz is the director of the Derek Jarman Lab which specialises in using filmmaking as a tool for exploring and communicating research.
