Places or buildings include: Bethel Congregational Church, Demerara; Providence manse and chapel, Georgetown; Smith memorial church and manse, Georgetown; Ebenezer chapel, Demerara; approach to mission house Ebenezer, Demerara, mission chapel and school house, New Amsterdam, Berbice; all British Guiana [Guyana] also mission house, Chapelton.

Photographs taken by Ernest R. Weeks

Groups include: River people at Stuckenhewal, Demerara River; 3 young boys in shorts and shirts; family group with father seated holding gun; 2 women standing outside LMS church at Roome, which they helped to build in 1878; group of children eating on bench outdoors; Miss Williams, African teacher with pupils on riverside of Demerara river [reproduced in News From Afar 1918 p. 80; man and woman on their way to church by boat on Demerara River; group outside school building.

People include: Pat Matthews, later a student in Nottingham; agricultural worker; a woman born in slavery; Mrs George, a member of Providence chapel, Georgetown; Johnson Gentle, catechist of Cephos, Demerara from 1845 to June 1915 (date of photograph).

Activities include: weighing bags of cane sugar.
