23 October 6pm – Ray Lucas (University of Manchester)

Ray will be talking about his ‘Graphic Anthropology’ project taking an example in Tokyo to examine how drawings and other notations are used to understand the world. Further details and joining instructions now available.

29 October 6pm – Matthew Reeve (Queen’s University, Ontario)

Matthew will be in conversation about his new book Gothic Architecture, and Sexuality in the Circle of Horace Walpole (Penn Sate University Press, 2020). Jointly sponsored by Birkbeck’s Eighteenth Century Research Group. Further details available.

12 November 6pm – Tijana Vujosevic (University of British Columbia)

Tijana will be talking about her book Modernism and the Making of the Soviet New Man (Manchester University Press, 2017), a re-examination of the various spaces and projects designed for the making of communist culture. Further details and joining instructions now available.

19 November 2pm – Jiat-Hwee Chang (National University of Singapore)

Jiat-Hwee will talk about ‘Hydro-carbons, air-conditioning, and the architecture of petro-urbanism’. This continues a series of talks ASSC has hosted over the last four years on ecology and architecture. Further details available soon. Further details and joining instructions now available.
